TRAINING AND RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

Areas of research and service emphasis include treatment outcomes

with autistic and other seriously disturbed preschoolers.

Candidates for voluntary research study include trainees in child psychiatry and psychology and preschool education services.

Contact us about proposed research projects using parent-permitted treatment archives to test several promising hypotheses regarding psychoanalytic work in the classroom using Reflective Network Therapy. We would like your help in establishing motility measures to identify indicators which reliably precede cognitive improvements, increased empathic responsiveness or shifts from aggressivity or agitation to calmness or sociability as direct responses to specific therapeutic interventions.

Thesis opportunities abound regarding videotapes and clinical data concerning The Cornerstone Method of Reflective Network Therapy for in-classroom treatment of seriously emotionally and developmentally disordered young children.

Two theses have been completed from data in our forensic archives.  An additional thesis concerned IQ rises and Children’s Global Assessment Scales resulting from Reflective Network Therapy treatment in our Cornerstone service.

Unique training and research opportunities are embedded in proposed studies related to a large project regarding transcriptions to be made from at least 250 hours of unedited videotaped therapy sessions of child patients with multiple diagnoses. Volunteer transcribers are needed. Qualified volunteers can do this work from home.

Volunteer assistants are needed to videotape preschool sessions.

Volunteer teacher assistants are needed to assist in Cornerstone treatment sessions a The Ann Martin Center in Piedmont, California.

Opportunities are widespread regarding the derivative Personal Life History Book, a manualized method for stabilizing foster care.
